MICROBLADING

Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup treatment involving pigment being implanted under the upper dermal layer of the skin. The procedure is usually performed with a manual hand-held tool, resembling a scalpel, rather than a machine and hair-like strokes mimic natural eyebrow hairs.

Microblading has rapidly grown in popularity over the recent years because it relatively inexpensive. However, microblading can be risky as there have been many documented cases of trainees taking a one-day course and becoming certified. It takes years of extensive training and practical experience to become the sort of artist you should consider getting your microblading done by. So make sure experience and training is one of your key criteria before going through with this treatment.

During your free consultation with experienced, award-winning, semi-permanent makeup artist Ros, your expectations will be discussed in detail. Ros will explain the different styles of brow available and take time to pencil in your new brows until you are happy with the overall size and shape.  Colours will also be discussed with you. We will never give you a brow that is fashionable or on-trend, as they should suit the contours of your face so the end result is effortlessly natural.

There are a number of colours to choose from ranging from the blackest black to more subtle shades of grey, brown and olive. Ros will talk through the most suitable colour to suit your skin tone and features.

The results can last up to 2 years and the price will include a top up within the first 3 months.  Colour boosts are recommended on a yearly basis to keep your brows looking fresh and fully defined.

Step 1. The consultation. Firstly, we will discuss in detail the procedure/s you wish to undergo. We treat every client individually, taking their features into consideration so the end result is totally natural and fits the facial structure and skin tone. There is no obligation to go through with the treatment following a consultation and we will never rush you into anything you are not 100% comfortable or happy with.

Step 2. The patch test. Your safety is important to us. As such, a patch test is required on the treatment area prior to the procedure being carried out. This is to assess whether you have any allergic reactions to the pigments, although this is extremely rare. The patch test is carried out during the initial consultation.

Step 3. The treatment. The treatment time varies depending on the procedure. However, the average time is approximately 2 hours. This includes the initial phase where the makeup is drawn on for you to agree the shape and colouring before commencing with the treatment. Time is dedicated to deciding on the shape and colour of your semi-permanent makeup to ensure an outcome you are happy with. We also apply a high-grade topical anesthetic prior to the treatment being carried out, as our client’s comfort is very important to us.

Step 4. Aftercare. At the end of the treatment, we will explain how to look after the treated area and you will take home aftercare instructions. You will also be given a small sample of aftercare products to use as instructed, as this will be necessary to ensure the original pigment does not fade too quickly.

Step 5. Follow up. Come back in 6 weeks for a follow up.
